On May 7, the crew of the project "Happy People" arrived in Vladivostok, led by director Dmitry Vasukov, winner of the "Laurel Branch 2008" award for Best Documentary. "Happy people" is a series of documentary films, the main theme of which is the belief of a man in himself and the survival skill in harsh environmental conditions. Previous films of the cycle were filmed on the Yenisei, the White Sea and the Altai.

On April 12, in Vladivostok, a new project of the director of the film "The Ice" Oleg Trofim was launched.

The 22nd Hong Kong International Film & TV Market - FILMART 2018 - the largest international film and television market in the Asian region took place in Hong Kong on March 19-23. More than 850 companies-distributors, film companies and film commissions from all over the world took part in it. The 22nd film market in Hong Kong was attended by more than 8,000 people. 

On February 21, the Primorye Film Commission together with the city youth library BUK conducted a master class of members of the crew of the new project, which will be filmed in Primorye.

The master class was attended by the production director Oleg Trofim, the cinematographer Denis Firstov, the production designer Artur Mirzoyan. The master class was visited by more than 120 people.

 

On February 3, participants of the children's film festival "Merry Larga" 2018 visited the Primorye Film Commission.

British operators Jeff Wilson and Simon Niblet have been coming to the Sikhote-Alin Reserve for the third winter to shoot the Amur tiger in the wild. The plot of the Amur tiger will be part of the 8-series documentary "Our Planet", which goal is to show the diversity of the world's forests and tell about the importance of their preservation.

 

The office of the Primorye Film Commission is now located in the building of the Regional Folk Culture Center at 12A Aksakovskaya Street (former FESTU Museum).

In the new documentary, Vladivostok will play the role of the football capital of the Far East of Russia. The film is shooting by an international film crew on the eve of the World Cup, which will be held in Russia in 2018.

In late October in Vladivostok, with the support of the Primorye Film Commission, the debut short film directed by Julia Vichkovskaya was shot under the working title "Carols".
