October 5 - 8 the Asian Film Market was held in Busan (South Korea) as part of the 24th Busan International Film Festival BIFF2019. The film market brought together about 1000 companies from 56 countries on its site, this year a record number of business meetings were held - 796.

The Primorye Film Commission presented its individual stand in the Asian Film Commissions Network pavilion - AFCNet square. The pavilion featured stands of 16 film commissions from 8 countries. The Primorye film commission was the only company to represent Russia in the film market.

Participation in the Asian film market made it possible to meet and conduct direct negotiations with Korean filmmakers. According to the results of the film market representatives of two film companies from South Korea announced their intention to visit Primorye before the end of 2019. Also, 2020 is scheduled to shoot a film by the Japanese film company.

 

The head of the Primorye Film Commission Dmitry Shevtsov and the international project manager Aleksandra Lazareva took part in the meeting of the Board of Directors of the AFCNet, as well as in the meeting of the organization’s General Assembly. The meetings discussed strategies of the international promotion of Asian locations, as well as the possibility of cooperation between the participating countries.
