The Cinema night 2019 gathered a record number of viewers in the Primorsky Region

The All-Russian action “Cinema Night”, which took place at the weekend, has become the largest and most visited for all the time of its existence. Primorsky region was no exception. More than 5 thousand viewers watched cinema at 11 venues in the region. The movie screenings were held in the cinemas of the region, in squares, stadiums and embankments.

Over 860 thousand people attended the event throughout Russia. Last year, there were about 800 thousand. In 2016, the action was held at 1.8 thousand sites in all regions of Russia, in 2017 - at 2.5 thousand, in 2018 - at 3.2 thousand. In 2019, it was another record - 3.5 thousand sites.

The organizers of the All-Russian action “Cinema Night” are the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Cinema Fund. In Primorye, the organizer of the action is annually the Primorye Film Commission with the support of the Primorsky Region Administration.

From June 27 to July 10, 2019, on the TASS news agency website, viewers could vote for their favorite Russian films to be included in the Cinema Nights screening program. The winners of the vote were three feature films: The Balkan Frontier (directed by Andrei Volgin), Domovoy (directed by Evgeny Bedarev) and The Police officer from Rublevka. New year’s endurance (director Ilya Kulikov). Screenings of films within the framework of the “Cinema Night” were free.
